A Log Cabin Shed That Works Harder
The Clubman is built for jobs a standard panel shed can't handle. Its 28mm interlocking log walls make it noticeably sturdier and better insulated, so it holds its shape, shrugs off the weather and stays warm enough to work in comfortably for much more of the year. Those solid walls are a real practical bonus, too — strong enough to take shelving, racking and hanging tools, so you can kit it out as a proper workshop and use the full height of the tall apex roof for vertical storage. Wide double doors make it easy to move mowers, bikes, furniture or boxes in and out. Whether it's a woodworking studio, a bike workshop or serious garden storage, the Clubman has the strength for it.
Classic Looks, Set Up Your Way
For a hard-working building, the Clubman is a handsome one. Georgian-style glazed doors and windows — the ones with the traditional square panes — give it a timeless, cottage-like character that suits any garden, and the top-hung windows open outwards to keep the interior bright and airy. It's built around you, as well: choose which side wall the window goes on and which side the door hangs, so you can put the door where it's easiest to load and the window where you'll get the best view or light. It's a true all-rounder — a workshop, a serious garden store, a studio, a home office or even a garden bar. The heavy 28mm log walls make it sturdy and warm enough for hands-on work, while the wide double doors and tall roof make it just as good for storing mowers, bikes and furniture.
Yes. Floor bearers are included, which lift the building off the ground so you don't need to build a separate raised sub-frame — but you still need a firm, level base beneath it, such as paving or a concrete pad, prepared before assembly. An inadequate base can leave it out of true and let water in, and may affect the guarantee.
Build the shed at least 24 inches away from walls and other obstacles so you can access all 4 sides. Give the timber a coat of exterior paint or wood treatment after it's built (not before), then top it up once a year to keep it protected and weatherproof. Routinely check the roof for wear and tear. Approximately 2-3 times a year, you may need to loosen screws to allow natural movement of the timber to slide into a new position, then re-tighten.
Usually not — a shed/workshop like the Clubman normally falls under permitted development if it's single-storey, to the rear of the house, within the height limits (this one always is) and not covering more than half the garden. Some land is always subject to stricter requirements, so check with your local council if you're unsure.
