FAQs
We do not offer an installation service. However, our sheds are designed to be easy to install for 2 people with some basic DIY tools, or you can arrange a local joiner to help you. (This should not be booked prior to product delivery and inspection.)
The building experience will be slightly different depending on your type of shed.
Modular wooden sheds (tongue and groove or overlap) have pre-assembled panels for the walls, which are quick and easy to erect once you've placed the floor.
Log cabin sheds have walls built from individual log boards, which you will stack and interlock at the corners, starting from the bottom.
If you're after customisability, comfort and style that matches any garden, then yes, wood is the best material for a shed.
Wooden sheds require more maintenance than metal or plastic, to keep them protected against the weather. However, timber has naturally insulating qualities so won't have go as cold in the winter or as hot in the summer. You can paint your wood, fit different locks, hang items from almost any part of the building, and generally make it your own, whereas metal and plastic are much more restrictive.
There are a few options for treatment with our wooden sheds, depending upon availability:
- Spray treatment protects the timber for transit only. After installation, the shed must have fresh preservative treatment (paint or stain) applied to protect the wood from moisture.
- Pressure treatment is offered on select models and sizes. This upgrade takes place during the manufacturing stage, where we will place your timber parts in our specialist pressure treatment machine and force preservative deep into the fibres of the wood. Superior to surface-level treatment, this gives you peace of mind that you aren't required to add any other protection for several years. It does create a green tint to the wood, so you might want to paint it your chosen colours, but you must wait 4-6 months for the preserver to fully dry first.
- Some wooden sheds are only available untreated and must have treatment applied after installation.
Each of our wooden buildings has an estimated lead time on the product page. This can change when you select different options. All of our wooden buildings are made to order, so we begin manufacturing after the order is placed.
