Why Choose a Wooden Play House?

A wooden playhouse gives children a building of their own rather than a moulded plastic shell — and because it arrives in natural timber, it can be painted and repainted as they grow. The same house becomes a fairy castle, a clubhouse or a miniature cottage depending on who's playing in it that week.

11mm Tongue and Groove Construction

Our wooden playhouses are built from pre-manufactured 11mm tongue and groove wall panels, where the boards interlock to form a solid, weather-resistant structure. Roof and floor panels are individually slotted tongue and groove on the models that include them — check each product page, as the floor is an option rather than standard on some designs.

Ventilation

You may notice small holes in the rear wall panels. These aren't a fault — ventilation openings are required under EN71 for play structures a child can get inside, and they also let moisture escape rather than sitting in the timber.

Ready to Paint and Personalise

Every playhouse is supplied in natural timber, ready to paint, so it can be matched to your fence or finished in whatever colours your children choose. Assemble the building first — painted or stained components are classed as accepted as seen and can't be returned or exchanged if a part turns out to be wrong. Choose a water-based, low-VOC product certified to EN71-3 (Toy Safe), and let it cure fully before the playhouse is used. A primer or basecoat, rather than sanding, is what improves how the topcoat holds.
